Welcome to Website Design Strategy. Your website can and should be a marketing tool that engages your audience, tells a clear and compelling story, and one that converts. In this course, we’ll teach you how to apply The Hero’s Journey story structure to your website and build a sitemap and flow of information that drives your user to your intended goals. Your website doesn’t have to be an expensive business card. This course will help you develop an effective marketing tool for your ministry.
Completing this course will help you:
- Understand how you can tell a story with your website structure.
- Develop information architecture for your site that drives your user to your intended goals.
- Communicate clearly and quickly with your audience.
- Build a tool that will tell a story, and hold your stories.
Who is the course for?
This course is designed for ministry leaders and marketing directors looking to design a website that converts. The principles you’ll learn in this course are rooted in The Hero’s Journey and they are used extensively in the corporate sector. It’s time the Church and Christian ministries across the globe started using these principles to their advantage. This course is designed to work in conjunction with our Purpose-Driven Strategy, and Story-Driven Messaging courses.
Learning Path
From 4:29 – 6:40 we discuss the importance of determining a list of goals for your website.
From 6:40 – 17:01 we quickly walk through a quick recap from our strategy and messaging courses and show how we’ll apply The Hero’s Journey to your site.
From 17:02 – 21:00 we discuss your website navigation bar.
From 21:02 – 26:37 we discuss the attention grabber or one-liner portion of your site. This will show up above the landing fold on your site.
From 26:38 – 35:22 we discuss the problem your ministry exists to solve.
From 35:23 – 38:44 we discuss the solution or strategy your ministry uses to solve the problem.
From 38:45 – 40:30 we discuss visualizing the solution.
From 40:31 – 45:08 we discuss the call to action.
From 45:10 – 49:04 we discuss showing your audience the success if they partner and the failure (optional) if they don’t.
From 49:05 – 58:57 we walk through a checklist for your homepage and a sitemap resource that we have created for you for FREE.
